SPECIAL REPORT: Mesh Masks a NO NO for Airsoft SAFETY!

FRIENDS DON’T LET FRIENDS WEAR MESH!

Our buddy Doctor Airsoft over at the great new website Airsoft Medicine.com is posting some very FRIGHTENING NEW VIDEO of a “test” of Wire Mesh Goggle/Facemasks that we found so alarming…well…just check it yourself:

Obviously, 520 at less than 2-feet range is an EXTREME test of any product, but safety goggles ARE able to stand up to this punishment and still offer protection.

NO mesh goggles that we’ve ever seen were so deformed or have the fragmentation behind the mask that Dr. Airsoft and AEX/Airsoft Extreme were able to get in this test.  However, stopping BB’s not the ONLY reason you should wear EyePro on the field…protecting your eyes from dust, dirt, thorns, limbs, vines, elbows, boots…heck, ANYTHING that could poke you in the eyes…is reason enough to have some quality, ANSI-approved, FULL-SEAL eye protection on you Brain-Housing Group EVERY TIME YOU PICK UP YOUR AIRSOFT GUNS to FIRE DOWNRANGE.

At the Casa-De-Thumpy-3D, that also includes test firing off the back porch/firing range, as well as at the field.  And, as they are our buddies, we humbly recommend the products from ESS…EYE SAFETY SYSTEMS…makers of the ONLY specially designed products for Airsoft, By Airsofters

ESS-Eye Safety Systems website:  http://www.essairsoft.com/

Be safe EVERY TIME you use your airsoft guns and step onto the field.  It only takes a split second for an accident to change your life forever!  Doctor’s Orders!

Thumpy,….OVER!

well of course its gunna go through if its that close and powerfull

  2. Most documented eye injuries occured at short range (Kratz A – Am J Ophthalmol – 01-JAN-2010; 149(1): 37-44). One incident occured within 4 feet at a Fort Ord game. It is documented in NAM magazine, issue 11. These injuries should never happen. Using gear that can take a close hit is the way to prevent the most common serious eye injuries. I heartily approve! The “Doc” is THE AUTHORITY in our world right now, and while his testing is often far in excess of what might happen, it shows what a worst-case scenario CAN DO…and you only get 2 eyes, people! PLEASE Check his info TODAY! THUMPS….OVER!

Another incident occurred in Northern California resulting in penetration of the nasal cavity through the bridge of the nose with expensive medical treatment. The player it happened to reported that rules were lax (questionable chrono) at that facility and that it occurred in a dark room in a CQB setting. I have seen a copy of the x-ray myself, but I have yet to confirm it by seeing the actual medical record.
