THUMPY’s 3D House of Airsoft received several “tips” from airsoft retailers that JAG Precision had e-mailed a letter to customers regarding the “dramatic” SHOT Show shutdown of their display by CYBERGUN and FN Herstal…the details of that letter are posted on JAG’s corporate homepage…LINK HERE…

LAS VEGAS, NV: 19 January 2012 Thumpy’s 3D House of Airsoft has learned that SHOT Show officials are closing down the JAG Precision/ECHO 1 USA booth on the show floor, and are escorting company personnel from the site of the 2012 show over a temporary restraining order from CYBERGUN S.A. and FN Herstal.

The shutdown is allegedly resulting from not one but TWO lawsuits filed against JAG, first in Texas on January 10, and the second filed here in Nevada on the opening day of SHOT Show, January 17.  Online records from those filings allege Patent Infringment by the popular California-based airsoft business from the largest holder of airsoft licensing agreements in the world.

SHOT Show media respresentatives are working on a statement, but did confirm that the vendor was being closed down after General Counsel for the NSSF, presenters of the SHOT Show, were made aware of a temporary restraining order from CYBERGUN representatives on Friday morning.

At midday, the JAG Precision and ECHO 1 USA booth was screened off by curtains, as company personnel including wildly-popular American YouTuber Brian Holt, were tearing down their displays.

Security personnel would not allow accredited media representatives to ask questions of JAG officials inside the display, and referred all questions to the SHOT Show media office, where we have place a query for an official response from the NSSF General Counsel’s office.

WAS FULDA GAP 2011 THE LARGEST AIRSOFT EVENT IN THE USA?

WE THINK SO!  According to Lee Ann and Ferg Ferguson, Gamemeisters-emeritus, ESQ. at Command Decisions Wargames Center, the total, verifiable, undeniable pre-registered/registered and walk-on player count for FULDA GAP 2011 was 797 Players.

And, from all AAR’s we’ve been checking out at the NC Airsoft.org forums, FG2011 was also one of the highest quality events anywhere for gameplay, for fair and balanced competition, for the remarkable leadership and sportsmanship from airsofters across the Southeast, and from organizers at CDWC.

OK, so what else might qualify as the biggest airsoft game in the USA?

Bad Karma Airsoft has their annual NOOB DAY event, and judging from the photos on THEIR WEBSITE, their player count for the March 2011 Noob-dition was 788 Players.   But, that’s a single day introductory event, and while massive by any standard, it might not qualify in everyone’s book as a true MilSim competitive games-style event. Our buddies/”Okies from another pokey”, Claymore and Frosty, producers at MIlSimEvents.com of another massive series of games at the World Famous D-Day Adventure Park have only topped 660 players (and real HELICOPTER GUNSHIP RUNS!) on Memorial Day weekend of 2011. That event, Oklahoma Invasion,  is spread out over One-Thousand Acres of terrain, highly developed to be the home-field for one of the worlds biggest p-ball events every summer, which has hosts 3500 to 4-THOUSAND paintballers for a nearly week-long event later each summer.

And, as D-Day field owner Dewayne Convirs is good buddies of the Fergusons, or so Thumpy is told, and they share tips, tricks and a commitment to staging mahoosive events, the possibility exists to stage the first ONE THOUSAND PLAYER event soon…in Oklahoma, in Southern California, in the Northeast…or more likely, in OCTOBER, 2012, at FULDA GAP in North Carolina!

 You Guys and Gals Just Made History! AND A PROUD AIRSOFT TRADITION CONTINUES!

ROCHESTER, New York (October 20, 2011) – Responding to the continuing worldwide growth of airsoft, Crosman Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in products for the shooting sports, has added two new managers to its airsoft team. Flemming Molin becomes the new international airsoft product manager and European product manager. Coming to Crosman with 15 years of experience with companies in Asia and Europe, he will be responsible for the global airsoft product line as well as European product development and will be based in Europe. Prior to joining Crosman, he was with one of Europe’s largest airsoft distributors.  An avid shooter, Crystal Martin is a two-year Crosman veteran with more than 20 years experience in international business.  She will be the new Crosman airsoft project manager based at the world headquarters in Bloomfield, New York and will work with Molin in product development, interfacing between international sales and marketing, and the factory.

According to Roy Stefanko, Crosman’s vice president of marketing, the worldwide airsoft business requires global thinking, but with local execution. “Though airsoft has many common denominators around the world, Crosman Airsoft and its Game Face Airsoft and Marines Airsoft brands must also be sensitive to local demands,” he said. “We want our product to answer those country-by-country demands with designs that excite and marketing messages that make our products the ‘must have’ brands for airsoft enthusiasts around the world,” he said. “Both Flemming Molin and Crystal Martin have experience translating those demands into airsoft products that will do just that,” said Stefanko. “With their efforts, we expect our upcoming airsoft offerings will be right on target, regardless of country.”

Molin began with Crosman September 1, 2011 and Martin started her new responsibilities on October 1, 2011. US Troops are coming OUT of IRAQ, and soon will be coming OUT of AFGHANISTAN…and when they go back “into battery”, it is going to be along one of the Earth’s riparian/littoral regions…where 70-percent of the world’s population resides. Bank on old Thumpy’s DECADES of covering the Marines in “every clime and place:” It won’t be pretty, it will be deadly, and you’ll be left holding a warehouse of CRAPTASTIC-PLASTIC guns that “Mom” and her Apple Pie won’t have anywhere near her “little Junior, (who’s) all in a rage.”  He’ll be “Coming of Age” without your products.

…..so, the .177 caliber MAR was NOT something Crosman pointed us to.  HOWEVER, in light of recent Crosman marketing pushes to get deeper into Airsoft, via their arrangement with the US Marines at MARINES AIRSOFT, the MAR IS the kind of product/project that most Airsofters might find some interest in cross-pollenating.  An ACCURATE, Real-steel based Airsoft Training Rifle carried by Real Marines?  What’s not to love, other than that pricetag…which we are sure could be lowered IF Crosman found interest from the community.  They do have Remington and Bushmaster licenses…so, who knows where this might lead.

DeMille believes that this purpose-built rifle represents the future of adult competitive air rifle shooting. “The new MAR177 promises to perform at the highest levels of match air rifle competition, while replicating the look and feel of an actual AR-15 style rifle. National Match competitors have been waiting for this gun. Since Crosman’s design team has a history of innovative and successful competition airguns, who better to bring this design to fruition,” said DeMille.

The Crosman MAR177 consists of an upper receiver and requires the shooter to provide their own lower AR to complete the gun. “This allows the competitor the versatility to utilize their own high-power AR lower with a competition-grade trigger group,” said DeMille.

Utilizing a PCP power plant affords an advantage over competitors, with less recoil and eliminating the need to repeatedly pump. “This air rifle features a multi-shot, removable, 8-shot rotary clip and an internally rifled Lothar Walther™ barrel,” according to Neumaster. “With a fill pressure of up to 3000 psi and velocities of up to 600 feet per second (fps), the rifle boasts 10-shot groups at 10 meters of less than 9 millimeters,” he said. The MAR177 is capable of 120 shots per fill and meets requirements for National Match Air Rifle competitions.

DeMille commented, “Serious competitors seek dependable, precision rifles. To these demands, the new MAR177 adds real affordability, compared to any equivalent model out there.”

Olympic level gunsmith and airgun expert Scott Pilkington comments, “I’m pleased to see that Crosman has recognized the inventiveness of my upper design, and brought it to the next level in production and development. This advancement will revolutionize the way folks everywhere use their AR-15s. I expect that serious competitors and plinkers alike will use this upper more than any other in their vault,” he said.

The Crosman MAR177 air rifle will be introduced with an MSRP of $900 and will be exhibited, along with Crosman’s entire PCP product line, at SHOT Show 2011 in Las Vegas, in booth number 12740. The trade show runs from January 18-21.

So, what is OUR take on this news? In all likelihood, Costa-Haley fans are about to get a brand new heapin’ helpin’ of their shooting stylings (Uncle Jed was one of America’s first video positional shooters, ‘ya’here?)…in all probability, starting at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in January 2012.  And, Magpul will also continue to turn out products, for both real-steel AND Airsoft shooters through their PTS lines…they have ALL proven their innovation time and time again, as well as their support for ALL shooting sports and defensive/offensive minded individuals…we don’t see any of that changing one iota.

Love em.  Hate em.  Don’t expect to see any less of Costa/Haley/Magpul any time soon.

We reached out to KWA USA’s “ALLIZARD” as soon as we saw it…and, along with our buddy “CARP” from Airsoft CQB Radio, we pushed this to Arnie’s and Popular Airsoft, knowing it was likely a FAKE

…and the only “releasable” part of AL’s response goes like this: “we decided not to make any personal comment except an official reply “This is NOT a KWA KRISS Vector GBB prototype”.

Pushing toward the target..and, co-witness before you start "selling" these, ok?

The EVIKE media stunt also reportedly wrinkled the feathers of not only THOUSANDS of KRISS fans awaiting KWA’s launch of this game-changing mega-gun, but also tweaked the nose of a major Evike competitor and YouTube video “star” who wondered if he and his SoCal Airsoft MegaStore also got scooped.

But, through the wonders of MAC and Apple+Shift+#4 screen-capture technology…yea, we know you PC guys won’t get the humor, too bad…we’ve screen-capped the “demo” and noticed a couple interesting “tells” in addition to the cheesy last-line.

New Battle Positions at South Field

Here’s a look at some of the volunteer construction efforts that are reshaping the World Famous South Field at Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  Led by Vinnie “Salty” Gizzarelli, bunkers and new trench lines are going in near the MOUT site/CQB City, and more military-inspired battle positions are coming soon.

New Video of KWA’s M4 GBB…on the way in the NEW YEAR

“You Shouldn’t have…you really REALLY shouldn’t have….”  About the only “shouldn’t have” to this story is the release date AFTER the holidays, so save up some of that hard-earned cash and get ready to put the PINNACLE GBB rifles into your collection!  Our Buddy at KWA, Allen “ALLIZARD” Lau says “other” videos have been of the Asia versions of the LM4 and its civilianized brothers…

“We have released the “Asia” version of the LM4 Magpul edition.  In fact, there is also a KSC version (label as KSC) but it’s sold in Japan only.  Both versions have warnings printed on the box indicating it’s NOT for US import.  US version (ATF approved) will be out early next year.  ETA will be end of Jan or sometime in Feb.  Also, Asia version LM4 have aluminum bolt and US version will have steel bolt.  A full press release will be out during Shotshow.  Just like this year.

 Speaking of Shot Show, we have quite a bit of news to announce through out the day, maybe the following day as well.  It will be a very busy week for us. “

OK, Here’s one that even the THUMP-Man would have never seen coming in a million years!  ”Tele-Evangelist”/Big Mouth extraordinaire Pat Robertson is not only a real-steel shotgunner…enjoying the thrill of “clay pigeon” shooting with his grandkid….

he apparently “green-lighted” the following story that actually portrays airsoft in a pretty positive light, along with a couple of our Eastie-Besties…the cats at Ballahack Airsoft in Tidewater Virginia, and the guys who run the “Extreme SEAL Experience.”

Both of Ballahack and Don Shipley’s SEAL buddies are located conveniently close to Robertson’s CBN world headquarters…so that’s a given that this was a cheap way for them to “do good” in the local community for a cheep drive down Highway 17 South from Virginia Beach.

SO, SHOT Show again promises to be big for KWA…and a prototype that can be handled, but not fired.  Hmmm…wish the KWA’s would have invested in a shoot-room, a-la CyberG/Palco….you CAN get a spot to do this, but not where KWA’s PRO TRAINING PRODUCTS booth is located…that’s a shame, SHOT Show!!!….Maybe SHOT needs to take some lessons from North Carolina’s own North Atlantic Airsoft Expo!!!!

I CAN NOT AGREE MORE!  This is pretty close to Thumpy’s policy, too.  I have a lot of real-mil friends and clients here at Camp Lejeune and New River Air Station, and around the world….who not only frown on this, but will beat your ass and take you to court/Law Enforcement…do NOT pose “as”, but honor the real men and women “DOING” the job, as you would want to honor them in person.

Raven Concealment Systems posted this on their Facebook page recently. It is one of the best things we have read in awhile. We’d say that their sentiment is shared by many in industry. Be aware there is some rather frank language in there.
